Bianco 420 Semi Automatic Bandsaw with Dual Mitre Sliding Vice

The Bianco 420 SA DS MS is a semi automatic double mitre bandsaw with a sliding vice system, designed for cutting structural steel, solid bars, and tubing at angles up to 60° right and 45° left.

This machine features a fully hydraulic system that controls the bow descent, vice clamping, and cutting cycle, reducing operator intervention and physical fatigue. The "DS" designation indicates Double Mitre capability, allowing you to swing the cutting head 60° to the right and 45° to the left without repositioning your material. This saves time when you need angled cuts for frame assembly or structural fabrication.

The "MS" (Morsa Scorrevole) refers to the sliding vice feature, which moves laterally along the machine bed. This allows you to position the clamp close to the cut line regardless of the cutting angle, providing better stability and reducing vibration during the cut. The machine uses a feeler pin system for rapid approach, the head descends quickly until the pin contacts your workpiece, then automatically switches to the hydraulic cutting feed. This reduces idle time between cuts.

The machine is built with an aluminium bow and a reducer unit featuring hardened and ground gears for long term durability. Bianco has manufactured bandsaws in Italy for over 30 years, building a reputation for precision and reliability.

Applications

  • Structural steel fabrication: Cutting I-beams, channel sections, and box sections for framework assembly
  • Industrial pipework: Sizing thick-walled pipes and tubes for processing systems
  • General engineering: Cutting solid steel and alloy bar stock for machining operations
  • Batch production: The semi-automatic cycle handles repetitive cutting efficiently with consistent results
  • Architectural metalwork: Creating angled joins for gates, railings, and bespoke steel structures

Key Features & Benefits

  • Semi-automatic hydraulic operation: The machine handles clamping, cutting, and bow return automatically once you start the cycle, allowing you to focus on material handling
  • Double mitre capability: Cut at 60° right and 45° left without moving your workpiece, saving setup time and improving safety
  • Sliding vice (MS): The vice slides along the bed to position the clamp optimally near the cut line, reducing vibration and extending blade life
  • Rapid approach with feeler pin: The head drops quickly to the workpiece before engaging cutting speed, reducing cycle time
  • Two-speed cutting: Choose between 35 m/min or 70 m/min to suit different materials, from mild steel to stainless
  • Digital angle display: An encoder-based digital readout shows your exact cutting angle for precision setup
  • Infinitesimal feed adjustment: Fine-tune the cutting pressure to match your material and blade for optimal results
  • Robust construction: Aluminium bow with hardened and ground gears in the reducer unit for long-term reliability

Frequently Asked Questions

What power supply does this machine require?

The Bianco 420 SA DS MS requires a 400V 3-phase power supply to operate the blade motor, hydraulic unit, and coolant pump.

What does the sliding vice (MS) feature do?

The sliding vice moves laterally along the machine bed, allowing you to position the clamp close to the cut line at any mitre angle. This keeps vibration to a minimum and improves cut quality, especially when cutting at sharp angles.

How does the semiautomatic cycle work?

Once you load your material and press start, the machine automatically clamps the workpiece, starts the blade, rapidly descends to the material via feeler pin control, cuts at the set feed rate, then raises the bow and releases the clamp when complete. You can walk away during the cutting process.

What materials can this machine cut?

The two-speed motor (35/70 m/min) allows you to cut both mild steel and stainless steel effectively. The infinitesimal feed adjustment lets you fine-tune cutting pressure for different material hardnesses.

Are spare parts readily available?

Bianco provides availability of spare parts for their machines for 20 years, ensuring long-term support for your investment.
