Bianco 370 Semi Automatic with 370mm Large Capacity

The Bianco 370 SA E is a professional semi-automatic horizontal bandsaw with mitre cutting capability up to 60°. Built by Italian manufacturer Bianco with over 30 years of bandsaw manufacturing experience, this machine features hydraulic bow and vice control for efficient metal cutting in fabrication shops and engineering facilities.

This semi-automatic bandsaw bridges the gap between manual operation and full automation. The hydraulic system controls bow movement with automatic fast up and down cycles triggered by a feeler pin, whilst you retain control over setup and cutting parameters. The machine handles bow descent, cutting progress, and return automatically, reducing operator fatigue during repetitive cutting tasks. You position the material, initiate the cycle with dual safety buttons, and the machine completes the cut before returning to start position.

The 370 SA E features a cast bow constructed from special alloys that minimise vibration and maintain cutting accuracy. Combined with carbide blade guides, a two speed motor, and integrated coolant system, this machine delivers consistent performance across various materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and other non-ferrous metals. The 830mm working height positions material at comfortable level for loading and setup.

Applications

  • Structural steel fabrication: Cut beams, channels, angles, and sections for construction and framework projects
  • Pipe and tube processing: Handle hollow sections and tubes at 90°, 45°, or 60° angles for mechanical installations
  • Metal service centres: Process stock material into customer-specified lengths with repeatable accuracy
  • General engineering workshops: Production cutting of varied profiles and materials
  • Ductwork fabrication: Cut profiles for heating, ventilation, and building services applications
  • Batch production: Use the material length stop for repetitive cutting to identical lengths

Key Features & Benefits

  • Quick mitre swivel head to 60°: The bow swivels to 60° for angled cuts without repositioning material or using external jigs. This provides genuine flexibility for projects requiring mitred profiles.
  • Semi-automatic hydraulic operation: Hydraulic control of bow and vice movement with automatic fast up and down cycles reduces manual effort. The feeler pin triggers cutting descent automatically, then returns the bow to start position once cutting completes.
  • Hydraulic vice with variable pressure: Material clamping pressure adjusts to suit different section types and materials. The hydraulic vice secures workpieces firmly during cutting and releases automatically at cycle end.
  • Two-speed motor (35/70 m/min): Dual cutting speeds accommodate different materials and thicknesses. Use 70 m/min for faster cutting of mild steel and softer materials, then switch to 35 m/min for stainless steel or harder alloys where slower speeds improve finish and blade life.
  • Cast bow with carbide blade guides: The cast bow design from special alloys provides rigidity and reduces vibration compared to fabricated frames. Carbide blade guides maintain precise blade alignment throughout the cutting cycle.
  • Integrated coolant system: Built-in flood coolant reduces blade temperature during cutting, extending blade life and improving cut quality. The cooling pump runs throughout the cutting cycle.
  • Material length stop: Adjustable mechanical stop allows repetitive cuts to identical lengths without measuring each piece individually, improving consistency and reducing setup time.
  • Dual safety button activation: Two-button cycle start requires deliberate action with both hands, keeping hands clear of the cutting zone. Safety interlock on the bandwheel cover prevents operation when the cover is open.
  • Blade tension indicator: Visual indicator helps maintain proper blade tension for optimal cutting performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials can this bandsaw cut?

The Bianco 370 SA E handles mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous metals. The two-speed motor (35 and 70 m/min) lets you match cutting speed to material type. Use 70 m/min for mild steel and softer materials, then switch to 35 m/min for harder stainless steel or alloys. Different blade tooth configurations are available for specific materials.

How does the semiautomatic operation work?

You position material in the vice and set the desired angle. When you press the dual safety buttons, the hydraulic system locks the vice, rapidly descends the bow to the workpiece, then automatically switches to controlled cutting feed. A feeler pin detects when the cut completes, stops blade rotation and coolant, then returns the bow to start position. The vice can release automatically if you select that option, or remain clamped for your next cycle.

What's the difference between 90°, 45°, and 60° cutting capacity?

Cutting capacity reduces at angles because the blade must travel through more material along its angled path. At 90° (straight vertical cuts), maximum capacity is Ø280mm round or 370×140mm rectangular. At 45°, capacity drops to Ø225mm round or 230×140mm rectangular. At 60° (the maximum mitre angle), capacity is Ø140mm round or 140×130mm rectangular. This is normal for mitre-capable bandsaws.

How often does the blade need replacing?

Blade life varies significantly based on material type, cutting frequency, proper coolant use, and blade tension. With the integrated coolant system operating properly and correct blade speed selection, blades typically last several weeks to months in production environments. Signs that replacement is needed include longer cutting times, rough cut surfaces, or blade wandering. The carbide blade guides in this machine help extend blade life compared to standard steel guides.

Can I add roller tables or material handling accessories?

Yes, the 370 SA E can be equipped with optional roller tracks, measuring systems, and material handling accessories. The 830mm working height allows roller tables to align with the cutting area. Contact your supplier about available options for your specific workflow requirements.

What maintenance does this machine require?

Regular maintenance includes checking coolant level weekly and topping up as needed, changing coolant fluid every few months depending on usage, checking blade tension before each shift, cleaning swarf from the machine regularly using the included brush, and inspecting hydraulic fluid level monthly. The carbide blade guides require minimal maintenance compared to standard guides. Following the manufacturer's maintenance schedule ensures reliable long-term operation.
