The Baileigh R-M5 is a portable, manually operated 3-roll ring roller designed for small fabrication shops, hobbyists, and metalworkers who need to create precise curves, rings, and circles from tube, pipe, and flat bar stock. Built with heavy duty construction and equipped with versatile tooling, this compact bender delivers professional results without requiring electricity or complicated setup.
When you need to bend metal into smooth curves or complete circles, the R-M5 gives you the control and precision you've been looking for. This isn't just another benchtop bender. Baileigh Industrial engineered this machine using heavy plate steel construction that's built to last a lifetime, not just a few projects.
What sets the R-M5 apart is its intelligent design. The unique 3-driven roll system lets you bend on either side of the bottom roll, giving you significantly more radius options than traditional single-sided benders. This flexibility means you can tackle a wider variety of projects without investing in multiple machines or expensive custom tooling.
Perfect for small fabrication shops, custom metalworkers, automotive enthusiasts, and serious DIYers, the R-M5 handles the jobs that are too small for industrial equipment but too demanding for basic tools. Whether you're creating decorative ironwork, fabricating exhaust systems, building roll cages, or producing custom metal furniture, this ring roller gives you the capability to work with confidence. The manual operation means no electrical requirements, making it ideal for workshops where power access is limited or where you want the hands-on control that only manual operation can provide.

No! The R-M5 is completely manual, operated by a hand crank. This gives you several advantages: you can place it anywhere in your workshop without worrying about electrical outlets, you get precise tactile control over the bending process, and there are fewer moving parts to maintain or repair. The manual operation is smooth and requires moderate effort for most bending tasks within the machine's capacity.
The R-M5 is designed for mild steel with tensile strength up to 60,000 PSI (42 Kg/mm²). You can also work with softer materials like aluminum, copper, and brass, which will actually be easier to bend. Always stay within the specified capacity limits: 16mm round tube, 0.5" solid round rod (with optional tooling), and flat bar up to 25mm x 7mm. Attempting to bend harder materials like stainless steel or materials exceeding the capacity may damage the machine or produce poor results.
While the R-M5 can handle some lighter gauge stainless steel tubing, stainless steel is significantly harder than mild steel and may exceed the machine's capacity depending on the wall thickness. If you plan to work primarily with stainless steel, you may want to consider a hydraulic model for easier operation. For occasional stainless steel work with thin-wall tubing, the R-M5 can work, but expect to use more effort on the hand crank.
The minimum diameter for round tube bending is 150mm (approximately 6 inches), and for flat bar the hard way, it's 120mm (approximately 4.75 inches). This makes the R-M5 excellent for creating small decorative rings, circles for metalwork projects, and tight radius bends that larger machines cannot achieve. The ability to create complete circles is one of the R-M5's standout features.
Yes! While the R-M5 comes standard with tooling for 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" round tubes and flat bar, Baileigh offers optional tooling sets for solid round stock and other tube sizes. Contact Baileigh Industrial's Technical Sales Specialists to discuss your specific application needs and they can recommend the appropriate optional tooling for your projects.
